Cristiano Ronaldo is the first player from the big five leagues to score 50 goals in 2013

The Whites’ forward has scored 44 goals for Real Madrid and six for Portugal so far this year

The winning goal that he scored against Levante was Cristiano Ronaldo’s 50th in 2013. The Portuguese forward has scored 44 for Real Madrid and six for Portugal and is the first player in the big five European leagues to reached the figure this year. The Real Madrid player’s average in this period is more than a goal per match, having only needed 45 matches to score his fifty goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo started 2013 by scoring a brace against Real Sociedad in the first La Liga match played in January. Since then he has scored in 29 other matches to take his total to 50 goals and confirm his status as the great goal-scorer in world football. The Whites’ forward has found the back of the net in every competition for Real Madrid (La Liga, Champions League and Copa del Rey) and in matches with Portugal.

Among his most outstanding performances this year are his five hat-tricks. With Real Madrid, they came against Getafe and Sevilla in La Liga, against Galatasaray in the Champions League and against the Celta in the Copa del Rey. With his country he scored a hat-trick against Northern Ireland to make him Portugal’s all-time top goal-scorer. Taking into account players that play in the top divisions in Spain, France, England, Germany and Italy, Messi and Lewandowski follow him on the top scorers list with 42 and 32 goals respectively.
